'Tanmatra' song tops Malayalam charts

Kochi, Jan 21 (IANS) "Mele vellithinkal", a song from the most discussed film of recent times, "Tanmatra", stays on the top of the Malayalam music charts this fortnight.

The top five Malayalam albums are:

1. "Mele vellithinkal"; Film: "Tanmatra"; Music: Mohan Sithara; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Karthik and Meenu - The song goes well with Mohanlal's character, who plays an Alzheimer's patient in the film.

2. "Manathe"; Film: "Bus Conductor"; Music: M. Jayachandran; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery; Singers: Madhu Balakrishnan and Rimy Tony - Mammootty shakes a leg with Jayasurya, Harisri Asokan and others as if trying to prove his detractors wrong.

3. "Idaluranu veena"; Film: "Tanmatra"; Music: Mohan Sithara; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singer: P. Jayachandran - Blessy's genius comes through even in the songs of this film.

4. "Pinakkamano"; Film: "Anandabhadram"; Music: M.G. Radhakrishnan; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery; Singers: M.G. Sreekumar and Manjari - The song holds its position for its old-world charm.

5. "Pandimelam"; Film: "Rajamanikyam"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery; Singer: Pradeep Pallurathy - A rocking song from a rocking film is the best way to describe this number.
