Thakazhi's grandson turns director

Raj Nair, the grandson of noted poet Thakazhi, is in the making of his debut directorial venture Punyam Ahom. The film focuses on the changes that have come about in rural life as a result of globalization and the change that has come about in social relationships as a result of westernization.

Prithviraj and Samvritha Sunil will be palying the lead roles in the film, which will be produced under the banner of Mirabilla Films. Others in the cast include KR Vijaya, Nishanth Sagar, Sreejith Ravi, KPAC Lalitha, Sona Nair, Surabhi etc. Raj Nair, who has written the novels Bhoomiyile Paravakal and Impermanence, also does the script for the film. MJ Radhakrishnan does the camera work.
