Thilakan's Hollywood dreams might have to wait
Feb 27, 2010 NRCochin, Feb.28 (NR): Thilakan's Hollywood dreams might have to wait. At least that is what seems from the press conference held by Sohan Roy, director of the Hollywood film 'Dam 999' in which the actor was expected to do a role.
Sohan said that if Thilakan does not solve the issues that he had got embroiled in during the last couple of weeks before March 1st, it might be difficult for them to have him on their project.
The shoot of the film is expected to start at Alappuzha on the 1st of March. It has been notified by about one hundred and fifty technicians and their association, that if Thilakan was a part of 'Dam 999', they would not cooperate with the film shoot. It's impossible to shoot the film without the support of these technicians, Sohan said.
Sohan also added that the film was based on the Navarasas, and there is no other actor who could perhaps substitute Thilakan to do his role that was based on the 'Shantha Rasam'. Actress Vimala Raman would be portraying 'Karuna Rasam' on screen.
The shoot of the film was originally planned in Srilanka. However, it was shifted to Kerala on Sohan's behest. But if the shooting got postponed because of such controversies, the film would stand to suffer, especially since a huge set for the climactic shoot has already been put up at Ramoji Rao Studios at Hyderabad.
Sohan said that they have not signed any agreement with Thilakan regarding 'Dam 999'. The association that said that it would not cooperate with the shoot has refused to give their decision down on writing. In the given circumstances Sohan said he hoped that the issues were solved as early as possible.
