'Udayananu' unchallenged at the top

1. "Udayananu Tharam": The film has kept the cash registers jingling and its distributors are laughing all the way to the bank. Its whopping success has made director Roshan Andrews a superstar.
2. "Achuvinte Amma": Urvasi's comeback vehicle has met with expected success. Director Sathyan Anthikkad has got the sure-shot formula for pulling the female viewers to the theatres. The presence of Meera Jasmine has proved to be an added advantage.
3. "Makalkku": Director Jayaraaj is one filmmaker who has straddled both worlds of commercial and art cinema. In this offbeat movie, he has utilised the talents of Shobhana and Suresh Gopi to tell a touching tale of a little girl born to a mentally ill woman.
4. "Annorikkal": Kavya Madhvan's dusky makeup may not have got a rapturous response at the box office, but the film has held its position.
5. "Junior Senior": A film loosely adapted from the David Dhavan-directed Hindi flick "Biwi No. 1" starring Mukesh, Kunchako Boban and Meenakshi has got into the list.
