South Indian actress Vimala Raman who becomes a next-door-girl-image to Malayalees through ‘Pranayakalam’ is now trying her luck in Bollywood. ‘Afra Tafari’ and ‘Mumbai Mirror’ are her two Hindi films which are now being filmed.

Though a Tamilian, born and brought up in Australia, very often people assume her to be a Malayalee because of her name. After making a mark of her own in the Malayalam industry, she moved to Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films, and this time to B-Town.

In ‘Afra Tafri’ directed by Hadi Abrar, Vimala Raman is cast opposite Govinda. Produced under the banner Popcorn Motion Pictures and Balaji Motion Pictures, the movie also casts Sunil Shetty, Mughda Godse, Arya Babbar, Yuvika Chowdhary, and Gulshan Grover.

Ankush Bhatt’s ‘Mumbai Mirror’ which stars Sachiin Joshi and Gihana Khan in the main roles, exposes the Mumbai underbelly and the nexus between the Mumbai Police and the debauched Dance bar owners. Vimala Raman plays a journalist in this movie.
