20 American dancers in 'Dasavatharam'

Kamal Haasan, Mallika Sherawat and other artistes and the production unit of 'Dasavatharam' directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar, have returned from Malaysia after filming some scenes and songs.


The song shot there included "Ka Karuppanukkum, Ve Vellayarekkum" composed by Himmesh Reshammiya. This song, besides Kamal and Mallika Sherawat, features as many as 20 American dancers. Choreographed by Brindha, it was filmed at a nightclub in Kuala Lumpur.


Kamal's make-up, done by Hollywood specialist Mosher, was so realistic that during the out-door shooting in Kuala Lumpur; people could not recognize it was Kamal, according to unit sources.


Choreographer Ravi Varma is said to have introduced several new techniques in the film, which is produced by Ravichandran of Oscar Films at a cost of Rs 35 crores.


At least two of the ten avatars portrayed by Kamal are now revealed officially. The story begins from the 12th century during the Chola Period at the Chidambaram temple with Kamal playing Rangaraja Nambi, a young Vaishnavite and a devotee of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji). From here, the focus is shifted to the present where Kamal plays the role of a research scientist in the US. Though details of the eight other avatars are not made known yet, it is learnt he also plays an aged woman and a Sardarji.
