50-acre 'Thideer Nagar' set for 'Boologam' shoot

It is a story about bitter rivalry between two families coaching boxers. for generations in North Chennai. The two groups would often clash with each other in their own confines and also outside. Younger generations of these families still live, but boxing is no longer their occupation. The screenplay has been written with this background.
Jayam Ravi, who played a kickboxer in M. Kumaran, son of Mahalakshmi, dons the role of boxer in ‘Boologam’.
Kalyana Krishnan says the film has been named after a legendary boxer who lived in North Chennai. Ravi’s character is also named after him. Ravi has undergone rigorous training for three months before the shooting commenced. In the film he takes on real boxers in the ring. Prakashraj plays the villain. Talks are being held with two Hollywood boxers to team up with Prakashraj.
Trisha plays a college girl.
The story takes place during the period 1931_2012.
Art director Mohan has set up a 50-acre township called ‘Thideer Nagar’ in Vadapalani. The shooting will be done in this gigantic set for one month. ‘Thideer Nagar’ has a gymnasium, a burial ground, homes and shops.
About 60 per cent of the film remains to be shot.
