Aascar Ravichandran buys Billa 2 theatrical rights

Aascar Ravichandran's company has bought the theatrical rights of much-awaited 'Billa-2' starring Ajith, Huma Qureshi, Parvathy Omankuttan and Bruna Abdullah.


Ravichandran is said to have paid Rs. 20 crore, which is believed to be the highest price, which any Ajith film has fetched so far for theatrical rights. It is more than what Ajith's blockbuster movie 'Manktha' and Billa could rake in.


Billa-2 may hit the screens in June. The film has created frenzy in Kollywood as also among the fans and its release is eagerly awaited.


Said to be the prequel to Billa, Billa-2 is about the early life of David Billa and the events that happened in his life, which turned him into one of the dangerous anti-socials in the world. The story begins when Ajith is 20 years of age.


Directed by Chakri Toleti, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. R.D. Raja Sekhar is the cameraman. The film has been produced under the banner of Wide Angle Creations in Entertainment.
