Jul 18, 2012 PGV

A leading Kannada hero, Aditya, follows Sudeep (‘Naan Ee’) to Kollywood. He has signed Simbu-starrer ‘Vaalu’ which is a comic entertainer. He began shooting for the film on July 18.

He plays a negative character in ‘Vaalu’. He says the villain is not really a bad guy as villains are generally portrayed in films.” The character is very charming and sauve”.

Explaining why he chose to make his start as a villain in Kollywood, Aditya says Sudeep took the risk with the Rajamouli film ‘Naan Ee’ and it paid off. Rajini, whom Aditya regards as his idol, also began his career with negative roles. It is not unusual for heroes and big actors to do character roles. Kollywood was always on his mind and was only waiting for a good break. One can experiment only when one seizes such opportunities, he feels.

Vaalu’s teaser has been released. As it has been announced that the film would release for Deepavali, Director Vijay Chander (Director Nagaraj’s assistant) has stepped up the pace of shooting which is going on without any break.

Hansika is the love interest of Simbu, who is a fun-loving prankster. Chander says what he means by ‘Vaalu’ is that the protagonist is sharp. Simbu’s name itself is Sharp.

Chander says the way he handled the ‘love’ subject makes ‘Vaalu’ very different from other films. Comedy is the film’s veneer; its core is the love between Simbu and Hansika. She plays the character of Priya Mahalakshmi, a village girl who comes to the city. She runs behind the good villain Aditya while Simbu runs after her. Santhanam, VTV Ganesh and many others play interesting roles. The film is set in the Tambaram Railway Colony. Chander has packed the comedy script with as much tension as possible. Every scene is a laugh riot and Chander is ready to give 100% guarantee for this.

He says they released the teaser and started the shooting without even performing pooja. “Vaalu is such a film that it should be released when it is hot. We have also announced that it would hit the screens for Deepavali. So, we are all working with a sense of urgency,” Chander says.

On top of the album comes ‘Evanda Unnai Peththan’, written and sung by Simbu. Set to music by Thaman it will be a sure hit with the masses, the director assures. This number will be released as a single.
