After Alawar , Ajit's next film is Kireetam

Ajit's much-hyped "Godfather' is getting ready for Deepavali release (Oct.21). He is currently busy with the making of "Aalwar". He has just signed up for "Keeritam" (Crown) for producer Suresh Balaji and the actor will start working for the new movie after completing "Aalwar".


"Keeritam" will be directed by A.L. Vijay, an ad-film maker and had worked as an assistant to director Priyadarshan. Vijay is making his debut as director through this film.


According to Suresh Balaji, the story of "Keeritam" was narrated to Ajit on the sets of "Aalwar" in Hyderabad recently and Ajit immediately gave his approval.


The story is an action-filled emotional drama between the father and son. Raj Kiran plays the role of the father.There will be a comedy element too and Vivek will handle it.


The heroine is yet to be fixed and it is rumoured that either Shriya or Nayanthara will get the role.


Thiru is the cinematographer while Yuvan Shankar Raja will provide the music. Suresh Balaji will produce the new film in association with Adlabs from Mumbai.


It is reported that the shooting will commence on Dec.1 in Chennai and move on to Karaikudi later. The film is expected to be completed by May 1, 2007 and released on Ajit's birthday.
