Ajit, Sameera Reddy in 'Surangani'

Ajit, the "ultimate star", has finished his part in "Aegan" which is expected to be released for Deepavali. He has now signed Gautham Vasudev Menon's new film titled "Surangani" to be produced by Ram Kumar under the banner of Sivaji Productions.

The talk is that the film is based on real life characters and that Ajit plays a deadly gangster. Gautham is said to have started writing the script.

Though the grapevine has it that the project will be exciting, Gautham and Ram Kumar are reported to feel that it is too early to talk about it.

According to present plans, the shooting of this film is expected to start in Chennai on Nov.1 It is hoped that the script will be ready by then.

Sameera Reddy pairs with Ajit for the first time. She plays the role of a mole.

"Surangani" will have music by Harris Jayaraj .The cinematographer is Nirav Shah, who worked for Ajit's Billa.

As another producer has registered the same title, Gautham may rename the film if necessary.
