Ajmal, Meenakshi pair in 'TN-07-AL 4777'

The Tamil remake of the Hindi film "Taxi No.9211'' is titled "TN-07-AL 4777", the registration number of an Ambassador car said to have been used by MGR.

Ajmal, who acted in "Anjathe", is playing the lead character in the Tamil version which was launched earlier this week.

The film is to be directed by Lakshmikanthan and produced by G.V Films Private Limited. .

Paired with Ajmal is pretty actress Meenakshi, who was last seen in Karan-starrer "Karuppasamy Kuthigaitharar".

With a medical degree from Russia, Ajmal, speaking at the function, said he is under no pressure to do justice to the character as it was made famous by John Abraham in Hindi. Ajmal has also performed ramp shows in parts of Europe.

Meenakshi is to do the character played by Sameera Reddy. "There is the advantage of following the original but I would like to make an impression on my own," she said.

Pasupathy is to play the role donned by Nana Patekar in "Taxi No.9211," she said.

Simran plays opposite Pasupathy.

The storyline is one morning, a rich man who is good- for- nothing hires a cab to go to court to appear in a case in which he contests his father's will. On the way, the cab is involved in an accident the rich man disappears from the scene leaving the cab driver and the wrecked cab behind. Before going to the court, he reaches the safe deposit vault to collect his father's will, but to his shock, he finds that he has left the vaults key in the cab. He must have the key at any cost, but the distraught cab driver would not oblige him.
