Ameer grows beard for 'Jihad'

Director / actor Ameer has grown a beard and he is quoted as saying that this is a look he is trying out for his next film titled ‘Jihad’ in which he will play the lead role.

He is now busy with the post-production of ‘Aadi Bhagavan’ starring Jayam Ravi. Ameer has got the hero also to grow a beard for the film.

Concurrently, he is also preparing a script for ‘Jihad’. “I wanted to have a bearded look for the role I will be doing in the film and so, have been growing one,” he says.

Asked whether the title ‘Jihad’ does not sound controversial as it means ‘fight in the terrorists’ parlance, Ameer says it is only a title and not the story. It is too early to talk about it. He could only say that it is a simple and straight story.

On his plan to restart work on his film with Kamal Haasan, Ameer says if Kamal makes himself available anytime soon, he is ready to start work on the project first, putting ‘Jihad’ on hold.
