Bollywood composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has sung a song in Tamil for a Tamil film 'Karuppampatti' starring Ajmal Ameer and Aparna Bajpai of Eesan fame. Prabhu Raja Cholan directs this romantic flick. Kannan is the music director and Kabilan is the lyricist.

This is the first time Bappi Lahinri has recorded a song in Tamil.

Director Prabhu said he and composer Kannan were keen to have a disco song 'Naughty Raja Raja…' recorded by Bappi, who is the first choice for any composers for such tracks.

Though they heard that of late Bappi became very selective, they decided to try their luck. First they sent him a track of the song and after listening to the tune, Bappi gave his nod. It took a great deal of persuasion to make him agree, Prabhu said.

Prabhu and Kannan then flew down to Mumbai to record the song at a studio recently. Kabilan wrote the lyrics for this Elvis Presley type of song set in the 80s.

Launched in 2010 'Karuppampatti' is a film that chronicles the life of a legendary young father of the 70s and his lovable modern son, both played by Ajmal. It is set in a village and a city.
