Bollywood director Benoy Nambiar has tied up with actor Chiyyan Vikram to do a Hindi film titled 'David' which will be a gangster-comedy. This will be Vikram's second Hindi flick after Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan'. The actor featured in both Hindi and Tamil versions of this film. He did the role of a cop in the Hindi version and a fugitive in Tamil.

Vikram has confirmed that he is doing his next Hindi film with Benoy Nambiar. He could not tell much about his role, but he may start shooting for the film at the earliest, so it could be released in 2012.

Benoy Nambiar directed the Hindi thriller ' Shaitan' starring Rajeev Khandelwal and Kalki Koechlin, which received critical acclaim and was also a success.

The Bollywood director assisted Mani Ratnam in 'Guru' and 'Raavan'. It is said he had come down to Chennai and organized a special screening of 'Shaitan' for Mani Ratnam. Benoy and Vikram became friends when they were working on 'Raavan'.

Sources said Vikram made frequent visits to Mumbai in the recent weeks to meet Benoy and finalise the script.

Benoy is said to be holding talks with Mira Nair and Deepa Mehta to rope them in. He will make a formal announcement after firming up the project.
