Bharathiraja changes story, drops Ameer

Mar 30, 2012 PGV

Bharathiraja's 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' is under production. Even as the shooting is on, he has removed the 'portion' featuring Iniya with Ameer. New face Lakshmanan playing the lead role, takes the place of Ameer and teams up with Iniya. Manoj K. Bharathi dons the role of villain.

Parthepan was to have acted in the film, but Bharathiraja replaced him with Ameer saying Parthepan did not fit the character he was to portray. Along with Ameer, Bharathiraja cast Iniya, Lakshmanan and Radha's daughter Karthika. They acted in some scenes that were shot in Theni. P. Kannan handled the camera.

According to reports, Bharathiraja has suddenly changed the story and removed the portion in which Iniya and Ameer were to share screen space. Ameer has been replaced with Lakshmanan. Manoj K. Bharathi has been cast as villain. Scenes featuring Iniya, Lakshmanan and Manoj K. Bharathi are being shot with a 5D digitl camera by K.V. Mani who has taken over from P. Kannan. The location (Theni), however, remains unchanged.

Bharathiraja's action in replacing Parthepan with Ameer and then changing the story apparently to drop Ameer has caused a flutter in industry circles.
