Bharathiraja launches his 44th film at Theni

Director Bharathiraja launched his 44th film 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' at his hometown Theni in south Tamil Nadu. This is something special because Tamil films were seldom launched outside Chennai.

The entire cast and Kollywood celebrities traveled all the way from Chennai to Theni to attend the function.

Bharathiraja introduced the cast to his local friends and took them down memory lane. He reminisced that he grew up in this place and used to play around with his pals and pluck the fruits from trees stealthily.

As he belonged to Theni, he had planned to launch his new project here, he told the gathering.

Bhrathiraja gave away mementoes to the guests.

Ameer of 'Paruthiveeran' fame is among the actors cast in the new film.

The celebrities who attended the function included directors K. Balachander, Mani Ratnam and Balu Mahendra, music director G.V. Prakash, lyricist Vairamuthu, Iniya, 'Ko' girl Karthika and her mother Radha. Click the Movie button below for more info:
