Billa 2 release postponed, leaving field to 'Saguni'

The battle of biggies that were on cards has not materialized. The release of mega movie ‘Billa 2’ starring Ajith , originally slated for June 22, has been postponed. No new date has been set.

Sunir Kheterpal of In Intertainment, the producers of the film, said they would be getting the censor certificate only on June 20 and could not announce the date of release before getting it. He, however, confirmed that the film has been given an ‘A’ certificate and it would not release on June 22.

Karthi-starrer ‘Saguni’ will release on June 22 as planned. It is said it will have a grand opening in nearly 1,000 theatres.

Industry and trade circles had expressed apprehensions that the release of two big budget movies on the same day would affect business and observed that film-makers normally avoided such a clash.

Now that Billa 2 is out of the race, ‘Saguni’ has the space all for itself.
