The latest addition from the south film industry (after Taapsee) to the David Dhawan remake of the 1981 cult comedy 'Chashme Buddoor' is none other than Siddharth.

Confirming the news, the actor tweeted, "I am thrilled to confirm that I will be doing David Dhawan's next film. Davidji is a very dear friend and I respect him a lot. I Can't wait so long." Siddharth is all set to play the role that was immortalised by actor Ravi Baswani, in the original. Casting for the role was reportedly both tough and emotional for the director, as Ravi is the only member of the original cast, who is no more.

Post the success of his recent tamil flick '180', it is reported that Siddharth bagged the chance, thanks to the close friendship he shares with the B-town director. Siddharth and Dhawan were earlier supposed to work together in 'Hook Yaa Crook' in 2010, which later was made with John Abraham in the lead.
