Organisers of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival (CFF) are keen to have Kamal Haasan's 'Viswaroopam' in its competitive section.

Touted to be Kamal's magnum opus, the film is said to be nearing completion. Kamal seems desperate to wrap it up before the extended deadline of March 15 set by the s Festival organizers.

They have 'bent' the rules to give more time to Kamal. If he could meet the March 15 deadline, the film would make history by participating in the CFF even before its release.

It is said Kamal is in constant touch with Christian Jeune (CFF) and updating him on the status of the film.

Kamal has invited a special dialogue coach in Tamil and Hindi to get the artistes' dubbing in place. Atul Tiwari, a long-time associate of Govind Nihalani, is supervising the Hindi dialogues.

The film's first setback came when Sonakshi Sinha quit soon after signing. Now,Isha Sharvani, who replaced Sonakshi, has also announced that she is out of the project. Both have cited dates problems. Click the Movie button below for more info:
