Cheran's criticism on Namitha

Director Cheran is known in the film industry circles as a person who speaks his mind. This facet of him was on display yet again at the audio launch of the Parthiban-starrer 'Ambuli', which is touted to be Tamil cinema's first stereoscopic 3D film.

Southern sexy siren Namitha, who was a guest at the event, waved a kiss to the audience from the stage before beginning her speech, which had the crowd going berserk. However, Cheran, who took the mike after Namitha, expressed his disapproval at such acts by saying, "Everyone clapped when Namitha waved a kiss at this public forum. But will we do the same when a woman from our own family does such an act?"

But what is interesting in this whole affair is that Namitha remained unperturbed by Cheran's public censure.
