Sivaji Productions' blockbuster "Chandramukhi" featuring Rajinikanth has run for 800 days at Shanthi Theatre in Chennai. This is a record for any film after Thyagaraja Bhagavathar's "Haridas" which ran for 770 days.

The Tamil Film Producers Association has decided to organize a function to mark "Chandramukhi's" all-time record. Producers of the film, Prabhu and Ramkumar of Sivaji Productions, and director P. Vasu called on Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residence on June 10 and invited him to preside over the function. The Chief Minister accepted their invitation. The function will be held on June 25.

Director Vasu, disclosing this, told mediapersons that the date June 25 was suggested by the Chief Minister. Rajinikanth would also participate in the celebration. As "Chandramukhi" is the first ever film to run for 800 days at one theatre in South India, the Producers Association has decided to organize a function to celebrate this success on a grand scale.

The venue and other details will be finalized at the Producers Association meeting scheduled for June 11, he said.
