'Dasavatharam' tsunami shots still being processed

Tamil Nadu is already in a frenzy about "Dasavatharam" in which Kamal Haasan dons ten roles.

The audio release function, perhaps the grandest ever, which saw the State Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and Hollywood action legend Jackie Chan sharing the same platform and the promos have raised audience expectations to such a level that has caused the hearts to beat faster. The question being asked is when the film, described as an extravaganza, hits the screens.

Producer Oscar Ravichandran has been quoted as saying that the film is ready except for the 30-second tsunami shots and they are being processed in Hong Kong.

These shots are expected to reach Chennai in a week or ten days. Once the tsunami scenes are incorporated in the film, the date of its release will be finalized and announced, probably be in the first week of June.

Like the audio release, where the 4,000-odd fan clubs cheered Kamal, the film will have a grand opening. Ravichandran has big plans.

It will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and may be Bhojpuri.

"In all probability, we may even have Japanese and Chinese versions" as suggested by Jackie Chan, Ravichandran reportedly said.

Though the story is still shrouded in secrecy, the guess is that Kamal will play George Bush, (US President), a Daler Mehndi look-alike, an Afghan, a police officer, a Brahmin, an old lady, a Japanese, a doctor, a Sri Lankan Tamil and Hindu deity Krishna's brother Balarama.
