Deepika Padukone to romance Vijay?

Deepika Padukone is excited about doing a Tamil film 'Rana' with superstar Rajnikanth. And while the film is at its pre-production stage, the gorgeous actress seems to be the chosen one for yet another big budget Kollywood film.

According to industry sources, filmmaker AR Murugadoss wants to cast Deepika Padukone as the female lead in his next film. The project is touted to have a big budget with 'Ilaya Thalapathi' Vijay as the hero. It is also believed that the film is titled 'Malai Neram Mazhaithuli' and will be produced by Vijay's father S. A. Chandrasekhar's production house. Though Deepika hasn't been signed on for the film, buzz is that Murugadoss has already approached the actress and she has shown interest in being a part of the project.

However, the actor-director duo doesn't plan to straight away start shooting for the film. They will first team up for another project that they have in mind and then start working on 'Malai Neram Mazhaithuli'. Vijay is currently on the verge on completing 'Nanban', the Tamil remake of '3 Idiots' with director Shankar.
