Actress Simran re-enters cinema after a gap of three years. Director Hari, famed for making masala entertainers with rural backdrops, has roped her in for his new film titled "Seval" (Rooster). His previous film Suriya-starrer "Vel" was a stupendous success.

The pooja for "Seval" with Bharat and Poonam Bajwa in the lead was held on May 11. The film will start rolling soon.

Simran is given a 'vital' role. Whether she will play Bharat's sister or sister-in-law is suspense.

Hari thinks the title is catchy. The film is an action-packed entertainer with the right mix of sentiments and comedy like his earlier films.

This is the first time Hari is teaming up with Bharat after working with big stars like Vikram, Suriya and Vishal.

Vadivelu and Hari are inseparable. He is to don the role of the hero's bachelor companion.

'Chittappa' Sampathraj, the fastest rising villain in Kollywood, is to play the bad guy along with Shanmugharajan.

Hari also retains his favorite team of cameraman Priyan, Editor V.T. Vijayan, art director Kadhir and stunt master Rocky Rajesh. G.V. Prakash composes music for the new film which is to be produced by Jinna Creations. Jinna is a leading film distributor.

Simran made Delhi her home after her marriage three years ago and lived there with her husband and child. TV offers made her rethink on her decision to say goodbye to acting. Retuning to Chennai, she has taken up two TV projects. One of them is Pyramid Saimira's "Simran Thirai" (Jaya TV) which is becoming increasingly popular.

Simran attended the pooja without make-up. She looked as natural as a young mother with a child. She was wearing white power glasses.

Talking to mediapersons Simran said she was floored by Hari's narration of the story and she immediately signed on the dotted line. "My role in the film is as heavy as the role of Bharat, the hero. You will know when you see the film," she added.

"Seval" is her second film with Hari as the director. She was the heroin in his first film "Tamizh".
