Director P. Vasu introducing son as hero in his new film
Oct 13, 2006 P.V. Sathish KumarOne of the veteran directors P. Vasu is introducing his son, Sakthi, as a hero in a film titled "Thottal Poo Malarum" being produced by Sapphire Media and Enterprises.
Sakthi is not new to films. As a child artiste he has acted in "Riksha Mama", "Chinna Thambi", "Nadigan" and "Senthamizh Pattu".
P. Vasu has directed several films, and some of the hits were "Thinna Thambi", " Walter Vetrivel", "Mannan", "Uzhaippali", "Panakkaran" and the latest "Chandramukhi".
Vasu himself is directing the new film, besides writing the story, screenplay and dialogue.
Gowri Munjal of Delhi is cast opposite Sakthi in "Thottal Poo Malarum". Rajkiran plays an important role. Sukanya is to act as the mother of the heroine. Vadivelu is given a different comedy role. Others in the cast include Naasar, Santhanam, Sriranjini and Srudeepa.
Yuvan Shankar Raja scrores the music. Leading cinematographer Ashok Kumar's son, Akash Ashok Kumar, handles the camera.
Vali, who had penned the song "Thottal Poo Malarum" for MGR in "Padagotti", will write all the songs for the new film.
Shooting will take place in Chennai. Important scenes will be shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pondicherry and other outstations. The film is scheduled to be released on Feb. 14 - Valentine's Day.
