Elred Kumar's MUK is ready to hit screens

Atharva and Amala Paul play the lead role in Elred Kumar's first directorial venture 'Muppozhuthum Un Karpanaigal'. He has earlier produced superhits 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa' and 'Ko'.



MUK depicts the life of an young IT professional in positive light. The theme is either it is love or anger, it is boundless The lead pair's love chemistry has worked well and it will be widely talked about after the release of the film, Kumar says, adding that up and coming Atharva will climb to the next level in his acting career..



According to Kumar, MUK has a novel story that cannot be classified into one particular genre as the plot traverses a whole range of emotions. 'There is romance, there is pain and there is even a 20-minute segment in the beginning that takes place in a village near Thanjavur.'



Atharva and Amala perfectly fit the bill. The others in the cast are relatively new.



His technical team includes cinematographer Sakthi (who shot Renigunta and is currently the director of photography for Simbu's Vettai Mannan), music director G.V. Prakash and editor Rueben (Antony's assistant).


Kumar has also roped in Nasser and Santhanam. As the heroine's friend Santhanam will appear throughout the film.


The MUK unit was in the US on a 20-day schedule to shoot some scenes in New York and a couple of songs in Las Vegas and The Grand Cranyon. The Panavision camera, used in Hollywood, was rented to shoot the scenes paying Rs.7 lakh a day.


The songs are well received, according to Kumar. The film will be released on Feb.17.
