FICCI conclave on film-making in Chennai on Oct.16-17

A two-day brainstorming session on the creative and commercial aspects of film-making will be held in Chennai on Oct.16 and 17, actor/director Kamal Haasan has announced.



Kamal Haasan is the chairman of the ‘Media and Entertainment Business Conclave 2012’ hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).



The conclave is part of the 100th year celebrations of Indian cinema.



Producer Sathyajothi Thiagarajan, P.Murari, adviser to FICCI, film-maker Hariharan and Leela were present when Kamal made the announcement on Oct.2.


Kamal Haasan said some of the ‘finest minds’ in Indian cinema would be participating in the conclave, which will focus on larger issues in the media and entertainment sectors.


Mohanlal and Mammootty, Dileep, Jayaram, Priyadarshan, Hariharan, Saurabh Shukla, Anurag Kashyap, Barrie Osbourne (the Oscar-winning producer of ‘The Lord of the Rings’), Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. Rohan Sippy and lyricist Gulzar are among others who will attend the conclave.



Besides discussions on various themes of the conclave, a 20-minute montage will be screened at the event as a tribute to the great artistes who have enriched Indian cinema. Those who have made signal contributions to the entertainment sector will be honoured. Renowned film-makers like Hariharan and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao will conduct a screen-writing workshop. There will also be workshops on digital film-making and sound technology.
