Director Gautham Menon has shelved his project ‘Yohan’ featuring actor Vijay in the lead. Instead he will be doing a film with Vijay based on a new script.

‘Yohan’, touted as a spy thriller, was to have gone on floors last July. The first look posters of the film were released. A.R. Rahman had been named the music director. Now it is heard that Gautham Menon and Vijay are not happy with the script.

Gautham has tweeted, “Yohan with Vijay is not happening. A.L. Vijay is directing Vijay’s next film. I’m fishing Neethane En Ponvasantham’. And then will figure out my next film.”

It is said Gautham will narrate a fresh script to Vijay in a couple of days and if it is okay, the project will take off next year.

Vijay is away in New Zealand where he is shooting for the songs of ‘A.R. Murugadoss’s ‘Thiruppaki’ (this title is in dispute). An announcement is expected after Vijay is back in Chennai.
