World famous fusion guitarist Ed Degenaro is shifting his base to Chennai from Seattle (US) for the love of music, if cameraman Akash Ashokkumar is to be believed.

Aaksh is the son of ace cinematographer Ashokkumar. He has turned a director and his directorial debut film is titled 'What's up Machaa'

According to Akash, Ed Degenaro will score the music for this film and Ujjayinee Roy will sing the songs which will be a fusion of Spanish and folk styles.

Guitar and session player Degenaro has been compared to the likes of Scott Henderson and Steve Vai. He was born and brought up in Germany. He has performed all over Europe and is currently residing in Seattle.

As for Akash, he started his career assisting his father and after working with him for three films, he has become independent. Akash has worked as a cameraman for P. Vasu's 'Thottal Poo Malarum' and 'Ilamai Idho Idho'. He has shared credits with Ashokkumar for 'Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi' starring Simran.

He says his life's ambition is to become a director and is making a beginning with 'What's up Machaa'. The story is about three boys who go in search of a girl.

Akash will handle the camera himself and also act as one of the guys. The two other boys are debutants Sameer and Rajsen. The girl is a new face, Zara. He describes the film as 'the reflection of reality'. So, he wants to rope in as many real life characters as possible. The film will be launched on Valentine's Day when a competition for couples will be held and the winning pair will be given a prominent role. It will be set in New Zealand and shot in natural light, says Akash. Click the Movie button below for more info:
