Hindi film 'Taxi No.9211' to be remade in Tamil

The Hindi film "Taxi No.9211" is to be remade in Tamil by G.V. Films Private Limited.


Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Sameera Reddy and Sonali Kulkarni acted in the Hindi film.


The Tamil remake is titled "Taxi", but as "Taxi" is an English word, the producers are considering giving the film a Tamil title so that it would be eligible for the entertainment tax waiver.


Pasupathy, who has been on the rise after the runaway success of "Veyyil", will play the role donned by of Nana Patekar in Hindi. Pasupathy is now acting in "Kuselan" and "Vedigundu Murugesan".


Simran has been chosen to pair with Pasupathy in "Taxi". Sonali Kulkarni also will be acting in the Tamil remake. Sonali is not new to Tamil cinema. She has acted in "May Maatham" (Month of May). The film will also have a young hero.


The screen play and direction will be by Lakshmikanthan.
