Chennai, Oct 16 (IANS) Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja's "Katrathu Thamizh" continues to be the most popular Tamil film album. The rustic, folk touch in the songs has gone down well with listeners, specially the one sung by his father, renowned composer Ilayaraja.

The top five Tamil albums are:

1. "Katrathu Thamizh" - Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja. "Paravaiya ennai" sung by his father Ilayaraja is the pick of the album.

2. "Polladhavan" - Music Director: G.V. Prakash. This album by Prakash has two other composers too - Yogi B and Dheena have composed a song each. Yogi B has remixed the 1970s' hit number "Engeyum Eppothum" by S.P. Balasubramaniam. And what's more S.P. has sung the remix himself.

3. "Bheema" - Music Director: Harris Jayaraj. "Mudhal mazhai" sung by Prasanna, Hariharan and Mahati continues to be among the chartbusters.

4. "Sathum Podathay" - Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja. "Pesugiren pesugiren" by the Viva Girls is still being played on all FM stations.

5. "Malaikottai" - Music Director: Mani Sharma. With the film doing reasonably well, the average album is also doing good business.
