The audio of Mysskin’s ‘Mugamoodi’ was launched at a grand function in Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai on July 20.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, the film stars Jiiva and Pooja Hegde. Sathya is the cinematographer and K is the music director.

‘Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay released the audio and Kannada hero Puneeth Rajkumar received it.

Vijay and Jiiva are known to be good friends and they got closer during the shooting of ‘Nanban’, the Tamil remake of the Hindi hit ‘3 Idiots’.

Jiiva had sent out a special invitation to Vijay to be the chief guest at the ‘Mugamoodi’ audio release function. He had tweeted that, “Thanks to Vijay Anna for accepting my invitation. I just sent him a text message and he replied, Anything for a nanban (friend)! I will make it and will be there for you. Overwhelmed.”

Speaking at the function Vijay said Jiiva and he had been friends even before 'Nanban' happened. “I watch every Mysskin film. The way he tells the story is fantastic. As a fan, he would wait to watch ‘Mugamoodi.”

Director Mysskin said, “This film is about a man who is one among us. Though it has all the features that befit a superhero film, what is important is the story. Please don’t compare it with a Hollywood film. Those who addressed the invitees earlier, had said that in 2015 he would make an English movie and make the world turn and look back. But this would not happen. I am not interested in directing any English or Hindi film. We have to make endeavours to attract the attention of the world to Tamil cinema. Like Japanese and Iranian films, Tamil films should be sought after. There will certainly be his contribution to creating such a situation.”

Directors Lingusamy and Venkat Prabhu were among others who spoke. UTV Dhananjayan proposed a vote of thanks.
