Kamal Haasan has warned certain groups for their illegal businesses in the name of his fans. In a statement, he says some promotional stills released by the company which is producing "Dasavatharam" in which he plays ten characters, are being commercially exploited by some unscrupulous elements through internet and SMS networks. It has also been brought to his notice that T.shirts and stickers with "Dasavatharam" characters embossed on them are being sold in places like Bangalore, Pondicherry.

The groups indulging in these activities have not obtained any permission from the producers concerned and so what they are doing are illegal and unauthorized, Kamal said and added that appropriate legal action would be initiated against them.

The actor specifically named an organization carrying his name and a website and charged that these two have been operating in association with each other. Calling them 'enemies', he said their business activities using his name are in fact tantamount to undermining his efforts to involve his fans in social service and other constructive programs for the welfare of society. And, he has taken care to keep his fans associations off any politics or exploit his name or films for business purposes, he pointed out

Stressing that neither he nor his producers have authorized these groups to engage in business deals not only in respect of Dasavatharam, but any other films that may be produced in future, Kamal has appealed to his fans not to extend any co-operation or help to them.
