Kamal's 'Marmayogi' launch next month

Kamal Haasan's next mega movie "Marmayogi" will be launched at a function in Mumbai next month, according to sources. The tentative date of launch is July 13 and the venue is Grand Hotel.

One of MGR's blockbusters of 1951 had this title. Kamal's "Marmayogi" is expected to be an adventure movie with a historical backdrop.

As soon as he finished with "Dasavatharam", Kamal took up the new venture and started working on it. Now he is said to be fully immersed in the project.

Kamal himself is to direct the film whose budget is estimated to cross the Rs 100 crore-mark, the highest ever for any Tamil film.

Pyramid Saimira will fund the venture. It will also distribute the film. There will be Hindi, Telugu and English versions as well.

As of now, only Hemamalini has signed up for an important role. It is a long time since she has acted in a Tamil film. She made a cameo appearance in Kamal's "Hey Ram".

Bollywood actress Kajol has been approached to play opposite Kamal. Talks are under way with her. The other actors and actresses will soon be finalized, the sources say.

A.R. Rehman is touted as the music director.

The high-end Red One camera will be used in the production of "Marmayogi". This camera has not so far been used for any other Tamil film.
