‘Mynaa’, a Kannada film directed by Nagashekar, is based on a real-life incident that took place in Chennai. Sarathkumar, Suhasini, Malavika, Nithya Menon and Chethan are among the lead players in the film. Telugu actor Ajay plays the antagonist.

The film is all set to release across the South dubbing it in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The makers first intended to release it in Kannada and also have a dubbed version in Tamil. They have now decided to release it in all four southern languages.

Only the Tamil version has a change of title, which is ‘Purvi’ because a straight Tamil film titled ‘Mynaa’ has already had its run in Tamil Nadu.

While Nithya Menon is very popular in Mollywood and Tollywood, Sarathkumar is one of the leading stars in Tamil and Suhasini and Malavika Avinash are familiar faces across the south. Hence, the makers have decided to release the film in four southern States in their regional languages, Nagasekhar told mediapersons.
