'Karikalan' stuck in court; Vikram too implicated in the case

Actor Vikram has been implicated in the 'Karikalan' case.


A civil court has stayed the shooting of the film on a petition from K. Rajasekharan alias Nagaraj alleging that it was he who wrote the story and gave the title 'Karikalan'.


Passing an interim stay on the film, the court has issued notice not only to the producers but also to the lead actor Vikram.


Normally actors are left out in such cases. The petitioner's action in dragging Vikram also along with the producers to court is very unfair, says one of the producers S.S. Vasan.


The producers are planning to file a defamation suite against Rajasekharan for causing mental agony to Vikram and tarnishing his image by implicating him in the case. They claim that they have the documents to prove that the Producers Council, the Producers Guild and the Film Chamber of Commerce have approved the story and the title.
