Karthi's new film has been titled as 'Saguni'

Karthi, who was enjoying a sabbatical after 'Siruthai', was in no hurry to sign his next film. Till a new director Shankar Dayal came along and offered him his movie, 'Saguni'. The actor took a shine to the project as well as the newcomer and gave him the green signal.

The lead character 'Saguni' is from the myth 'Mahabharata', he's the uncle of Duryodhana, known for his intelligent moves, with which he defeats his opponent in a game of dice. Similarly, the title assumes great significance in relation to the script. Speaking about this, Karthi, who has shed a few kilos for the new movie, exudes enthusiasm,'' I wanted to pick up films from different genres. After I did 'Siruthai', I decided to stop acting in remakes, at least for a while. In this film I play a character called Kannan, who outsmarts everyone with his brilliance. It is difficult to explain further''. When asked about his love interest in 'Saguni', he replies,'' we haven't signed anyone yet. The director may go in for a new girl from Mumbai. The female protagonist is someone from an affluent family with tons of attitude. G. V Prakash Kumar will be composing the music after 'Aayirathil Oruvan'. The film shoot will be rolling soon''.
