Karu's 'Mandhira Punnagai' wrapped up

Director Karu Pazhaniappan, remembered for his films, 'Parthiban Kanavu' and 'Pirivom Santhippom', has just wrapped up the shooting of 'Mandhira Punnagai'. At a press meet held recently in Chennai, the director without divulging much about the film said, 'The film is a love story. Love transcends everything. I believe that there is no end to falling in love. However we restrict ourselves bound by society and responsibilities'.

The director plays the hero in the film, while Meenakshi of 'Karuppasamy Kuthagaitharar', plays his love interest. Other cast members are Santhanam, Thambi Ramaya and Nakulan Ponnusamy. Ramya, a model and VJ Maheshwari make their debut in interesting roles.

Music is by Vidyasagar. There are four songs.

'More than the songs, it's the background score that is different', revealed the director.

Talking about her role, Meenakshi says, 'I play Nandini, who is modern in her outlook yet rooted in ethics. She is an ideal girl. It was quite a challenge playing the role'.

The film produced by Karthik Nagarajan is scheduled for a post Diwali release.
