California pop singer Kate Perry has agreed in principle to dance to Bappi Lahini's song in 'Karuppampatti', according to director Prabhu Raja Chozhan.

He says Kate Perry has been asked for call-sheets and she has informed him that she would make herself available when she gets time between her schedules.

The internationally renowned pop artiste (27) was the star attraction at the 5th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) inaugural at the YMCA Grounds, Chennai, on April 3 night. She sang a number on the stage with the audience giving her a whoop.

Coming to 'Karuppampatti', Ajmal and Aparna Bajpai of Eesan fame are in the lead. The hero (Ajmal) lives in Paris and he comes to Tamil Nadu in search of his father's place. He and the heroine (Aparna) fall in love. Whether their love will succeed and whether the hero is able to locate the place where his father lived is what the story is about. Ajmal plays both the son and father roles.

Bollywood composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has sung a song in the disco genre and the song was recorded in Mumbai. The song will be picturised in a pompous setting, most probably in a disco club. In Prabhu's scheme of things, Kate Perry will dance to the song along with Ajmal.

A portion of the film was shot for 30 days in Paris. Further shooting will be done in Chennai and Palani.
