Kreshna, who is the hero, plays the challenging role of a body retriever. He spent nearly three months with one Arumugam of Kodaikanal, who does this job, to observe his lifestyle and mannerism. This homework Kreshan did for his role helped him a lot while shooting, he ssaid..
Director Sathyashiva, who was born and brought up in Munnar said he has come across many tourists and observed the pain parents undergo when their children commit suicide owing to love failure. 'I thought this must be conveyed to the audience in the right way.'
Producer Pattiyal Shekar said he insisted that since the film revolved around the dead, a liberal dose of comedy would be an antidote to the pain and sorrow.
Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is said to be the backbone of the movie. There are five songs each of which is of a different genre. One of them is about love spanning three generations. Yuvan too has sung a song.
