'Kuselan' to hit the screens on July 18

"Kuselan", a remake of the Malayalam hit "Kadha Parayumbol", will hit the screens on July 18. The audio release is scheduled for June 25. The release of the film is so planned that the 100th day celebrations will fall on Deepavali day.


Rajinikanth plays the brief role of a superstar. Pasupathy dons an important role. Nayanthara and Meena are the two main female characters in the film. Others in the cast are Prabhu Ganesan, Vadivelu, Santhanam and Livingston. G.V. Prakash scores the music.


This is director P. Vasu's fifth film with superstar Rajinikanth. K.Balachander's Kavithalaya and Seven Arts are the joint producers of the film which is also being made in Telugu titled "Kucheludu. Jagapathi Babu takes the place of Rajini in Telugu.


According to sources, 80 per cent of the shooting has been completed. A Rajini-Nayanthara duet song is to be filmed in Kerala. The unit will then move on to Hyderabad to complete the shooting.


Vasu is said to be working overtime. Graphics work is being executed by Jupiter in association with Soundarya Rajinikanth.


Daler Mehendi has been roped in for Rajini's introduction song.


The film unit sounds confident of meeting the schedule – audio release on June 25 and film release on July 18.
