Lakshmi Rai teams up with Amy, Anushka in 'Thandavam'

'Mankatha' girl Lakshmi Rai has joined the cast of Vikram-starrer 'Thandavam'.

Director Vijay, who is in the UK shooting for the film, has confirmed the news and said she will be playing an important role. Her portions will be shot in London.

Lakshmi Rai, told mediapersons that she signed the film a while ago and she will be leaving for the UK by next month."I can say my role will be the surprise element in the film. I will always be seen with Vikram."

She joins Amy Jackson and Anushka who are the other heroines in 'Thandavam', which is Director Vijay's second venture with Vikram.

"All the three heroines have a great deal to do in Thandavam," Rai said.

The London schedule of the film will continue till mid-June. The music audio will be launched in July.

In February, a flashback and a song sequence featuring Vikram and Anushka were shot in Delhi. Vijay would only say that Thandavam is an action-thriller and will feature Vikram as a special police officer. Amy Jackson plays the daughter of a couple living in the UK; one of her parents is an Indian and the other is a UK national.

G.V. Prakash is the composer and Nirav Shah is the cinematographer.

UTV Motion Pictures produce the film.
