M3V - Tamil Cinema's first metro movie

May 18, 2008 NR

Here comes a movie that's tagged 'Tamil Cinema's first Metro Movie'. Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam, who had earlier been an associate of Maniratnam and P.C. Sreeram, is the one who comes up with this movie, titled M3V.

The director, who had earlier been a businessman, began his stint in movies as an assistant to P.C. Sreeram in Meera and then worked in many films and also directed several short films and commercials.

M3V, his debut feature film, is in his view a 'Metro Movie' as it discusses life from the city perspective. The story itself is different compared to usual Tamil movies and so is the treatment. Another specialty about the film is that Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam introduces 100 new faces in the film, including the hero and the heroine. Satyajith (who is basically a professional photographer) and Keevna (who is a doctor based in London) are the lead artists in M3V.

The film features cinematography by Fowzia Fathima, music by Aslam Musthafa and art-direction by Thotta Tharani. The songs in the movie include one in English and another in Hindi. M3V, shooting of which has already been completed, is getting ready for release. We can expect to see this 'Metro Movie' in a month or so.
