'Maatraan' among 22 films releasing next month

Last August saw the release of 28 films, which was unprecedented in Tamil cinema. The number of films that hit the screens this month is also a big surprise.

More than 20 films are listed for release in October. Of them, only K.V. Anand’s ‘Maatraan’ is a mega movie.

Sixteen other films on the October list of releases are all small budget films. They include: Soundarya, Ariyaan, Sembattai, Amirthayogam, Sokkali, Mayilparai, Chakravarthy Thirumagan, Chozhanadu, En Peyar Kumarasamy .

Sridevi’s Tamil-Hindi bilingual ‘English Vinglish’ is also set for release next month

Besides these Tamil films, three Hollywood films, two Telugu films dubbed in Tamil are set for release in October.

In all 22 films are ready for opening next month. This number may go up by one or two. There is also a possibility of a couple of the films lined up may not make it to theatres. Click the Movie button below for more info:
