Arjun starrer ‘Madrasi’ and two other Tamil movies - ‘Kalaba Kathalan’ and Kalvanin Kathali’ - were released today. All these three films have been given an “A” certificate by the censors based on their erotic themes.

Eagerly awaited film is “Madrasi” directed by Arjun himself. An all-out action film, “Madrasi” has Arjun playing an undercover cop in the Mumbai underworld. Vedika and Gazala team up with the hero. ‘Madrasi” is the first Tamil film to use Digital Imaging (DI) which gives more clarity, consistency and color coding. This technique is now being increasingly adopted by film directors in the country.

S.J. Surya and Nayanthara star in “Kalvanin Kathali”, directed by debutant Tamizhvanan. Yuvan Shankar Raja scored the music. As always Surya is bold in portraying romance. The posters which appeared on the Chennai walls on the eve of the release drew flak for their obscenity. A section of lawyers have made a complaint to the police asking them to remove these posters. This is an indication of what is in store for S.J. Surya , who has already earned the sobriquet “Sultan of Sleaze”.

The third film ‘Kalaba Kathalan’ has Arya playing the hero. As the name of the movie implies, it is a story exploring the new frontiers of romance. It has been directed by debutant Igor who handled the camera also.
