Mani Ratnam offers role to M.K. Azhagiri

Oct 2, 2008 Nr

There is talk doing the rounds that well-known filmmaker Mani Ratnam has offered a role in his forthcoming film to M.K. Azhagiri, the grandson of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. This won't be a surpirse since it wouldn't be the first time that someone from Karunanidhi's family is going into films. From Karunanidhi himself to his eldest son Muthu (who had acted in some movies) to his grandson Udayanidhi (who produced 'Kuruvi' recently), the family has been intimatley related with Cinema in many ways.

So, now it is Azhagiri (who incidently is into active politics), who's being offered a role in a film, and that too by a director of such repute. It's also heard that the role that Mani Ratnam has chosen for Azhagiri is that of a politician and a very positive kind of character. Azhagiri is reportedly weighing the proposal.
