Muktha Srinivasan making film on Indian dances

Feb 19, 2012 PGV

Muktha Srinivasan has entered the Tamil film industry 65 years ago and has since been actively associated with it. He has directed and produced 41 films. Some of these films were trendsetters.

Srinivasan has now set up a new film company called 'Muktha Entertainment', a joint venture with his brother V. Ramaswamy's son Muktha Govind.

After a long interval, he is producing a film titled 'India Nadanangal' under the banner 'Muktha Enterprises'.

What has motivated him to take up this project so late in his career? He says most of India's proud art and cultural heritages have disappeared in the fast changing social environment. The only traditional art that still survives is dance. It is 'Nadana Kalaignar' Priyadarshini Govind who has advised him to do a film on the subject.
