'Nankam Pirai' first Dracula film in Tamil

Director Vinayan is working on a first Dracula film in Tamil. The film is titled ‘Nankam Pirai’. Prabhu plays psychiatrist while Nasser dons the role of swamiyar. One Sudhir portrays Dracula. Also in the cast are: Aryan, Monas and Sraddha Das. Sathishbabu is the cinematographer and Bibithgeorge is the music director.


Talking about the film, Vinayan, who directed Vikram-starrer ‘Kasi’ which brought Vikram plaudits and boosted his film career, said ‘Nangam Pirai’ will be made in four languages _Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and English.


Legend is that the Dracula has connection with the moon. So, the film has been named ‘Nankam Pirai’, Vinayan said.


The film in 3D is based on the original horror story written by Bram Stoker. Vinayan had been to Romania recently. It is said he was completely taken in by the legend of the Dracula surrounding the Bran Castle in Transylvania where people worship the bloody monster. He plans to start the shoot at Bran Castle. Hollywood technicians have been roped in for graphics work. Sreeraj produces the film for Sudha Screens.
