Nasser to reprise Vijay Raaz in Tamil 'Delhi Belly'

Veteran actor Nasser is the latest addition to the cast for the Tamil remake of 'Delhi Belly'. He will reprise the role of Vijay Raaz who essayed the role of Somayajulu, a gangster who chases Imran Khan and his henchmen in the Hindi version. The character needs to have a great sense of humour.

Director Kannan and the producers of the Tamil remake of the film had been looking for an actor who could repeat the performance of Vijay Raaz. They had Raaz himself in mind for the role. They finally zeroed in on Nasser who is known for his wit and comic timing. He has proved this in 'Poi Solla Porom' and other films. The makers were not convinced that Vijay Raaz could bring out the 'raw emotions' in Tamil as best as Nasser could. These considerations tilted the scale in favour of Nasser for the role, which is pivotal to the film.

With Arya, Santhanam, Hansika and Anjali already in the cast, a photo shoot may take place in a few days and the film will go on floors next month.

Thaman has been composing the tunes for the songs written by Na. Muthukumar and Tharamai.
